We are an evangelical, Bible-based community, adhering to the historic doctrines of the Protestant Reformation. These doctrines are framed by the “5 solas” of the Reformation:
Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) – The Bible is the only inspired and authoritative word of God; and is the only source for Christian doctrine, and is accessible to all — that is, it is perspicuous and self-interpreting.
Solus Christus (Christ Alone) – Christ is the only mediator between God and man; there is salvation through no other.
Sola Gratia (Grace Alone) – Salvation comes by divine grace or “unmerited favor” only, not as something merited by the sinner. This means that salvation is an unearned gift from God for Jesus’ sake.
Sola Fide (Faith Alone) – One is justified before God by faith only, without any mixture of or need for good works. Saving faith is evidenced, but not determined, by good works.
Soli Deo Gloria (To God Alone be the Glory) – All glory is to be due to God alone, since salvation is accomplished solely through His will and action — not only the gift of the all-sufficient atonement of Jesus on the cross but also the gift of faith in that atonement, created in the heart of the believer by the Holy Spirit.
Because of our belief that the Gospel is of primary import, Covenant Fellowship is committed to the Bible, God’s inerrant and infallible word, as the final authority in faith and life; we believe that the faithful preaching (and hearing) of His word is essential to growth in the Christian life. We are committed to expository preaching and teaching of the word.
We are also committed to the Biblical idea of the communion of the saints and seek to encourage real Christian fellowship, a heartfelt concern, and love for one another in the life of the Body at Covenant Fellowship. We believe that a programmatic approach to church life fails short of inculcating a true love and concern for one another, and we aim to be what God calls his people to be: a family – naturally and practically caring for one another and discipling one another in the good times and the bad. Our goal, then, is to be a loving community of believers in Christ, truly committed to one another, who naturally live out lives of discipleship and witness.
At Covenant Fellowship you will find ministries geared to the needs of those that are seeking God’s truth. We have a place for everyone to study the Scriptures, fellowship together, and minister to others.
We invite you to be a part of our family and share the blessings of God in the life of our growing church. If you wish to visit with an elder, or desire more information, please give us a call today. We would love to hear from you! Again, thank you for stopping by.
We hope to see you Sunday!
In Christ,
Pastor Ray Harper
